The day provides us with an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the values of cultural diversity and to learn to live together.

In 2011, a grassroots campaign ‘Do One Thing For Diversity and Inclusion’, celebrating the annual World Day for Cultural Diversity was launched by UNESCO and the UN Alliance of Civilizations.

The 2013 campaign, by encouraging people and organizations from around the world to take concrete action to support diversity.

Head Office were invited to Banana Moon Hatton’s Open Day.  It was a glorious day and a great turn out.

The nursery is located on the corner of Little Brum, in the heart of Baddesley Ensor.

The nursery is easily accessible being on one level, with 2 internal play spaces, one for the Under Two’s and one for the Over Two’s. The nursery also has a large enclosed outdoor play space.

The building has direct access to the outdoor areas, which allows the children and the staff team to utilise the outdoors as a Learning Environment throughout the nursery day.

The garden area will allow the children to participate in large group activities, including obstacle courses, picnics, snowman building, singing sessions etc. There are also opportunities for parents to engage in participatory events such as sports days or different themed days.

When considering the skills we would need to guide us, we decided we needed not only significant franchising experience, but a well-developed business sense and strong commercial background. Someone who had developed and run their own businesses, and knew the highs and lows of “being your own boss”.Someone in a senior role who could support our franchisees with first-hand knowledge of what it feels like to operate your own franchise, and provide the guidance to our franchisees to build successful businesses having done it themselves several times before. Further, we needed someone who understood Banana Moon; our unique systems and business model, and what it is that makes our franchised brand so strong.

Well, who better to do all that than the man who created the franchise model and set it all up for us? Yes, after several months of long lunches and late night negotiations we are delighted to announce that Steve Felmingham, former director of The Franchising Centre and the consultant behind all of your financial plans, has finally been persuaded to join the team!

Steve will now be with us full-time from 1st April, and has jumped straight in working on some impressive new support schedules for all of the nurseries. He will also be undergoing some additional training here in Warwick, but as soon as that’s complete he will be in contact with you to discuss your support requirements and to schedule a visit with you.

This is a major step in Banana Moon’s evolution. Building a strong team which shares the vision and values which we all hold so dear was never going to be an easy task, and it’s not finished yet. As you may already know, two further members of the team joined us in March, Sarah Twynham and Tracey While, also in a support role, and we have further exciting plans for later in the year. We hope that you will agree that we take the role of franchisee support very seriously, and when we said we were committed to your success, we really meant it!

In the meantime we trust that you will join us in welcoming Steve on board, and look forward to working with him as much as we do.
